New Fiscal Year, New Goals

Many Nonprofit's fiscal years ended in June, which means they are now facing a new financial year in their organization. With a new year, comes a new budget. And, while operating a Nonprofit during a global pandemic, comes an operating budget in the negative. There are so many unknowns. Instead of letting the feelings of failure and hardship take over, it's time to start thinking about what your new fiscal year will look like and start doing!

How to make your goals happen:

Call your donors and check in on them. This little step can go a long way. When donors feel they are valued, not just for their money, you typically see a spike in donations.

Ask for monthly donors. Having a regular source of donation income is huge for Nonprofits. No matter the quantity of the gift, knowing you have that source of income is relieving.

Conduct at least three big fundraisers per year. This is obviously going to be hard with Covid-19 regulations, but fundraisers don't only have to be big in-person events. They can be email fundraising campaigns, social media fundraising campaigns, a virtual event with a big name.

Thank your donors often. It's the same concept as calling your donors to check in on them. When donors feel valued, and that their gift was of value to your organization, you will see a regular donation.

Now get out there and do it!
